moondrunk
The half moon’s milky
midnight haze glides
across the sky, beams
filled with photons
refracting and reflecting
dusty light through the
dark hollows. Our nights
are filled with curiosity
and wholehearted fun, moon
shining down. the loamy
soil soft underfoot
makes for a grounding
moment in what feels
naturally chaotic.
Moon turns florescent
like your eyes, glowing
incandescent, bright
blue mischief. The moon
still glides across
smooth space, clock-
faced and plump. We,
starry eyed, imprinted
with eachother’s kiss.
The grass begins to condensate,
perfectly slick to cool
our enmeshed bodies.
Dawn greets the moon
with a bouquet of colors.
the moon, head to the horizon,
sinks low. Handfuls of wildflowers
given to eachother,
a bed to sleep on, glistening
petals, bleeding color.
we cling together
like starfish and retreat
to the sea only to wake up,
a puddle, with the noon-high sun.
